14.04.2020 Hebrews 3 and 4

Good morning everyone 💪🏽

I hope and pray that you are all keeping strong during this lock down! With all the dishes 🍽️🍴🥄and cleaning and chores you need to do all day 😅

If you have remained faithful to the Bible readings every morning you will have managed to read through ✅ 1Timothy ✔️ 2 Timothy ✅Titus ✔️Philemon and now we are busy with Hebrews. You will Bible bofs by the time lock down is finished.

Bible reading

👉🏾 Hebrews 3

👉🏾 Hebrews 4

Hebrews 3

Here the author is encouraging us to fix our thoughts on Jesus, all of us who share in the heavenly calling

.

👋🏽 You have a heavenly calling did you know that?

The reason we keep focused on Jesus is because He was faithful to God and still is faithful to God. 🤲🏽

❓Do you know what it means to be faithful to God?

To be faithful to God is to make a commitment to Him and follow through on that commitment. To serve Him only as God and be obedient to the heavenly calling He has on your life!

The author also warns us here against unbelief 🤔

That if we hear the word of God we should not harden our hearts 🖤. Like the Israelites did with Moses. They saw all the miracles God had performed, such as the plagues🦗, parting the red sea🌊, making food 🍞 fall from the sky. Yet still they made an idol and disobeyed God many times.

Don't be like that, when the word comes open your heart to it ❤️ and don't find any reason under the sun 🌞 to ignore it.

❔How can I be more believing when it comes to the word of God?

Hebrews 4

What we read here is very encouraging. God has given us rest as a command. Even He rested on the seventh day after creating everything 🌏🪐✨

We are so blessed because we no longer have to live under God's anger as the people in the Old Testament because God finished His work through Christ Jesus so that we can find rest. We are blessed to be living in this generation!!

❓Have you found rest in God during this lock down?

I don't mean sleeping all day and chilling playing Playstation, but being in His presence and finding rest? Rest from difficult times 😢, rest from busyness of life 🏃🏽‍♀️, rest from hurts and pains 💔 and rest even from our screens 🖥️, cellphones 📲 and tvs 📺!

Hebrews 4 ends off with encouraging us to approach the throne of God with confidence! 🙇🏽‍♂️🙇🏽‍♀️ Jesus is not just a God who sits on his throne and looks down on us no! He is a God that understands us because He was a human that was tempted 👿 abandoned heart broken and betrayed 💔 and died for us.

God can relate to us.

❓How can you approach the throne of God with more confidence?

closing prayer

Thank you Lord for everything you have done for me. That you set a good example of remaining faithful to the call God has in your life. Help me to discover my heavenly calling and to remain faithful to it. Let me not harden my heart to your word but to take it to heart and live it out everyday. Thank you that I can find rest in you. Help me to approach your throne with confidence not being ashamed. Jesus you did so much for me, became human like me, and because of that I know you understand everything I go through. Thank you Jesus. Amen.

God bless guys!! Miss you all! 💜
