Goood morning everyone!! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿฝ Today is day 20 of the lock down, only 15 more days left to go (hopefully). ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿฝ Today I want to encourage you to choose joy ๐Ÿคฃโ˜บ๏ธ over anything you maybe feeling. Joy is one of the fruits ๐Ÿ of the Holy Spirit. So ask Him today to give you joy over everything because the joy of the Lord is your strength. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ ๐Ÿ“–Bible reading ๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸฝHebrews 5 ๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸฝHebrews 6 Hebrews 5

Here the author is describing the old order of how things used to work. ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿฝ A high priest would be selected from amongst the people ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿฝโ€โš–๏ธ. The responsibility of the high priest was to take sacrifices ๐Ÿฎand offerings to God, on behalf of everyone, so that their sins would be forgiven. But now Jesus is our high priest. He went to God and made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of all of us so the old way of doing things is over.

The Author begins to give a warning about falling awayโ€ผ๏ธ. The people that the Author is writing to had remained immature๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿฝ. After all the teaching they had received they were meant to be teachers of the word themselves ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿฝโ€๐ŸŽ“, but they were still immature in their faith learning only the basics over and over again. โ”Have you been growing to maturity in your faith?

Hebrews 6 The author encourages us to move beyond the basics of our faith. The basics for us is that God exists๐Ÿคด๐Ÿฝ, we are sinners, Jesus died for usโœ๏ธ, we need to repent for our sins and read our Bible and pray everyday. These are just the basics of our faith and yet so many people get stuck here! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ โ“How can you move on to maturity in your walk with God? The author then makes this statement:

It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. โ€“ Hebrews 6:4-6

โ”What do you think he means by this? This is a powerful statement. How many times do we backslide in our faith every year? But you see the author is coming at it from the perspective that if we have truly encountered God and His love and goodness then how is it possible that we would turn away from Him? The author encourages us to be patient. God has seen every good work and every bit of love โค๏ธ we show. Everything God has promised us, He will give to us, this is our Hope, an anchor for the soul, Firm and secure.

Make a decision today, to move on to maturity. Move on from the basics of your faith and become a mature Christian. ๐Ÿ™‡๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‡๐Ÿฝ Closing prayer. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ Lord today, I accept everything you have done for me. You are God and you created everything that I see. I believe that you sent your son for me as a sacrifice for my sins once and for all. Today I make a commitment to be a mature child of God, praying everyday and studying your Word. Help me to have more faith and to be a mature disciple. Amen God bless guys! Stay strong!! โœŒ๐Ÿฝ
